• All alpacas must be ARI registered and micro-chipped to be entered in or present at the show. •
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI e.g. health papers) must be
performed after August 26, 2010 to be admitted to the event. •
CVI must contain the alpaca’s ARI name and microchip number AND proof
of a negative PCR test or a negative VI test for BVDV (Bovine Viral
Diarrhea Virus). | |
This year AOBA will be requiring BVDV testing for all alpacas entering the building. Please consult with your vet to insure that testing is done before the show.
A Negative PCR test or VI test for BVDV (Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus) will be required for each alpaca entering the facility, in addition to other health requirements. Microchips will be checked, and all health papers should include animal name, ARI registration # and microchip numbers. Test NOW to ensure that testing is completed in time for MIAF.
AOBA Certified Shows occurring require all alpacas to be identified with a microchip. This means every alpaca that is transported to an AOBA Certified show for any reason (i.e. show entrants, companions, auction alpacas, alpacas being transported and using the show venue as a stop off point, etc) must be identified with a microchip.
You must make sure that the proper micochip number appears on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (i.e. Health Papers) and transportation documents. Animals without this identification will not be allowed to enter the venue.
